Arthur Cohn (Producer)The only producer ever to have won six Academy Awards, and the only foreign producer ever honored with a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame, Swiss-born Arthur Cohn has built a reputation for producing films of uncompromising vision and artistry. Born in Basel, Switzerland, Cohn studied international law, and was a journalist and author before turning to producing. He teamed up with Vittorio De Sica, handling most of the director's late films, including Sunflower (with Sofia Loren), Woman Times Seven (starring Shirley MacLaine), A Brief Vacation and the Oscar-winning The Garden of the Finzi-Continis. Other Oscar-winning film productions of Arthur Cohn include Black and White in Color, Dangerous Moves and One Day in September. Cohn also produced two films directed by Walter Salles, Central Station and Behind the Sun and, more recently, the hugely successful Les Choristes. |
