Michelle Yeoh (Madame Wang)Michelle Yeoh was born to a Chinese family in Malaysia. She studied dance from a very young age and attended a boarding school in England from the age of 15. Later Yeoh entered London’s Royal Academy of Dance where received a B.A. degree in Creative Arts with a minor in Drama. Yeoh's career in Hong Kong started with television commercials before being she was offered a film contract. Her first films were The Heroic Trio in 1993, and the Yuen Woo-ping films Tai Chi Master and Wing Chun in 1994. In 1997 she worked with Roger Spottiswoode when she was cast in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. In 2002 she starred in the highly critically acclaimed and popular film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, for which she was nominated for a BAFTA Film Award for Best Actress. In 2002, she produced her first English movie, The Touch through her own production company, Mythical Films Most recently she starred in the film adaptation of Memoirs of a Geisha, and Sunshine. |
